'Gub' Riegel - Peoria Journal Star
Sep 19, 2016Gub” Riegel, 85, of Easton, died on Sept. 13, 2016, at 11:58 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.He was born July 6, 1931, in Crane Creek, the son of Russell and Pearl (Clark) Riegel. He married Dixie Johnson on June 20, 1964. She survives.Ronald is also survived by: daughter Lisa (Greg) Lynn of Easton, and sons Bradley (Machiko) Riegel of Poulsbo, Wash, and Bill (Jill) Riegel of Mason City; grandson Bryce Lynn and granddaughters Kylie (Levi) Kirby, Hannah (Alyse) Robertson and Ema Riegel; numerous nieces and nephews.Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Clarence (Red), Gerald (Gander), Kenneth (Bob) and Russell Jr., and two sisters Evelyn (Tiny) Strader and Betty (Susie) Aldrich.Ronald retired from the State of Illinois. He also worked for Dana Corporation, Havana, and was a barber for many years. He was the past Chief/Fireman of Easton Rural Fire District and past member of Lakewood Country Club. He enjoyed many things including: playing Santa Claus, hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening, the Chicago Cubs and trips to Las Vegas.A visitation for Ronald will be held on Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City. Funeral service will take place Saturday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m., also at the Funeral Home. The Rev. Joe Briseno will officiate.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Easton Rural Fire Protection District. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.hurleyfh.com.
